Resident Success Story: Beulah
February 26, 2020Beulah Anderson is 95 years young and choose to come to Nicholasville Nursing and Rehabilitation. Beulah was living at home, however, she began to have many falls making her fearful and made her walk bent over at a ninety-degree angle at her hips. She was only able to look at the floor!
Beulah wasn’t sure if she wanted to try therapy, but with encouragement, she has made the most amazing transformation! She began by standing in the parallel bars to help her stand upright. At first, it was only for seconds at a time. It took a lot of work on Beulah’s part, but gradually she built her core strength, leg strength and consequently her confidence!
Now, Beulah walks with her head held high, her hands on her walker, and her body upright enjoying the sights around her! No more looking at the floor! Beulah enjoys Bingo and visiting with other residents but her specialty is crocheting! She makes dishcloths and gives them as gifts. With her new strength and sense of accomplishment, she has come out of her shell and is encouraging other residents to work hard on their therapy too!
Great job on all of your accomplishments, Beulah!
